HEAD CAPTAIN: Jaylen Stasio

POSITION:  Receiver, Corner

YEARS ON TEAM: 4

Q:  Why did you choose to join Robinson Flag?

A:  I chose to join Robinson Flag because I had heard so much about the sport since middle school. I wanted to be a part of something great and I knew flag would be the sport for me.

Q:  What is your favorite flag memory? On the field and off the field...

A:  My favorite flag memory on the field is winning state championships last year and running around the field screaming with everyone. Off the field, my favorite memory would have to be

filming the Nike commercial and getting to be with Alonso, bonding over the sport.

Q:  In your opinion, what makes flag unique from other sports and activities?

A:  Flag is unique from other sports because we practice year round. We are constantly aiming to get better and not only do we practice year round, but we also do team bonding. Our team is always expanding and it's great to be able to have opportunities to get closer to people outside of the sport.

Q:  What advice would you give to a new player unsure if flag is for them?

A:  I would say to always try your hardest. It's important that you put the most effort into everything, and it never goes unnoticed. I think it's so crucial to put in maximum effort, not only in flag but in life.

CAPTAIN: Brianna Stearns

Q:  Why did you choose to join Robinson Flag?

A I chose to join Robinson Flag because I attended a clinic in middle school that was run by previous Robinson players and I had a lot of fun so I wanted to try it out in high school.

Q:  What is your favorite flag memory? On the field and off the field...

A:  My favorite flag memory on the field is throwing a whip to Sydney Hall in the end zone

last year to save JV's winning streak. My favorite memory off the field is my first time attending CCC my freshman year.

Q:  In your opinion, what makes flag unique from other sports and activities?

A:  Flag is a unique sport because everyone has the same goal of trying to expand and grow the sport so all girls have the opportunity to play no matter where they are, which creates a community feeling.

Q:  What advice would you give to a new player unsure if flag is for them?

A:  I would tell them that it's always better to try something out instead of regretting not taking the opportunity to be apart of something different.

CAPTAIN: Julia Guillermo

POSITION: Running Back, Rusher

YEARS ON TEAM: 3

Q: Why did you choose to join Robinson flag?

A: I chose to join Robinson Flag Football because not only did I want to get involved in my school, but I also wanted the opportunity to meet new people. While I heard Robinson Flag Football would offer me both of these things, i didn't truly understand how much of a role it would play in shaping my high school experience. As a freshman, I heard so many great things about the flag football program at Robinson, but I was unsure if I would be able to find a place on the team. However, I decided to give it a try and I am certainly glad I did! I joined

the team, and not only has it given me friendships that I hope will last long after high school, but it has also opened doors for opportunities outside of flag football.

Q: What is your favorite flag memory? On the field and off the field...

A: My favorite flag memory on the field was the time I got to rush as a freshman during the Bucs preseason classic against Alonso. Even though I was super nervous, I would say that was the day I found my passion for rushing! However, the memories I love the most are the ones shared with my team. A moment that I would say is one of my top favorites though, is the night after we won States, because I enjoyed getting to celebrate such a special moment with my team.

Q: In your opinion, what makes flag unique from other sports and activities?

A: Flag football is unique, because of how simple yet intricate the sport is. Especially being on Robinson Flag Football, I feel as though there is a different environment that comes with not only the sport, but the team as well. The awesome thing about Robinson Flag Football is that it teaches you not only how to be a better player, but an overall better person. I say this because this program has allowed me to learn countless valuable life lessons that i will take with me long after I leave high school.

Q: What advice would you give to a new player unsure if flag is for them?

A: Just go for it! You never know if you're going to enjoy it, unless you try it out! I think coming into it with a positive attitude helps you realize that you are able to go outside of your comfort zone, even though it may be nerve-racking. All of the girls are super welcoming and encouraging, which truly helped me when I was a freshman coming into the program!

was the adrenaline rush that I got that reminded me of why I liked playing flag. It was great working together as a team and and having each other's back. My favorite memory off the field is with my teammates during states, when we were in the hotel rooms just goofing off and having fun with each other.

Q: In your opinion, what makes flag unique from other sports and activities?

A: Flag is unique from other sports because of the environment the program surrounds itself in. The girls make lifelong friendships and build bonds with each other like no other sport. We support each other through thick and thin and help each other when needed.

Q: What advice would you give to a new player unsure if flag is for them?

A: Advice I would give is to not be scared to try a new thing. No one is going to judge you, so just give it your best effort at all times and have fun.
