Meet the Coaching Staff

Joshua Saunders is in his eighteenth year as the head coach of Robinson Flag Football. During his time as head coach, the team has won eleven straight district titles, had eleven straight state finals appearances and won the 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, & 2023 FHSAA State Championships. The varsity team has had a 174-7 record over the last eight seasons. Outside of flag, Saunders teaches math to IB freshman, sophomores, juniors and seniors at Robinson. He is a 1993 Robinson graduate and attended USF, graduating in 1997 with a B.S. in Social Science Education and a Masters in Educational Leadership. Saunders has a twelve-year old son, Kallen.

  • He is a high school and Women's college basketball official and refereed the high school state finals five times.

  • Saunders served on the NIRSA Flag Football Editorial Board from 2015-2021, the only high school coach in the history of the Editorial Board.

  • He is a coach of the three time National Champion University of Florida Club Women's Flag Football Team.

Greg Green is in his eleventh year of coaching Flag Football, where he works with the quarterbacks on offense and is the defensive coordinator. He played competitive flag football for 20 years, starting in college. Outside of flag, Green is a Circuit Court Judge in Hillsborough County. He is married to Nese with a seven-year old daughter, Skylar, and a five-year old daughter, Saige.

 

Assistant Coaches

Tim Mimbs is in his tenth year of coaching Flag Football at Robinson.  He is extremely proud of the 8 state championships Robinson Flag has won, as well as being extremely protective of the current JV winning streak that reaches back to 2011. He has also been a part of the three consecutive NIRSA National Championships won by the University of Florida Women's team.  Mimbs is also currently the Head Flag Football Coach at Warner University in the NAIA.  Mimbs has a fourteen year old daughter, Ella.

Brian Ridge joined the coaching staff for his inaugural year in 2020, after five years of announcing for the Knights flag football team. He focuses on safeties, centers, and running backs for the Knights. Long ago he was a collegiate soccer player and has been involved with many charitable organizations in the Tampa Bay Area. Now, he is a film aficionado, pickleballer, and golfer.

Arnaldo Abreu has been coaching with Robinson Flag Football since 2019.  He graduated from Robinson in 2004 as valedictorian while also serving as class president and captain of the basketball team.  He also serves as a coach for the NIRSA National Champion University of Florida Women's Club Flag Football team.  Outside of flag, Abreu is a proud uncle to several nieces and nephews and is a Co-Founder at Relofant.

Kylee Gorngpratum has proudly been a part of the Robinson Flag Football Family since 2011, graduating from Robinson in 2014 where she was a varsity flag football and volleyball player. She was on the first team to win a state title at Robinson in 2014, and was also the Florida Dairy Farmer State Player of the Year. She is beginning her 6th year as an Assistant Coach for flag football, but originally started her coaching journey at Robinson in 2018 as the volleyball head coach, where she just finished her 6th season! Outside of flag football, she works at Ballast Point Elementary and is a certified personal trainer, specializing in functional strength training, athletic training, and mobility. Fun fact- she has a monkey, whose name is Ace!

Vaughn Volpi is in his 9th year of coaching Flag Football and is the longest tenured coach in Robinson's history (36 years).  He coached football for 28 years serving as DC for the last 16 and is currently the Womens' Soccer Head Coach.  He is the Executive Director of The Fox Foundation and one of the Founders of the Robinson Foundation. He is married to Barbara with a son Chase, who played D1 football at Samford University, and a daughter, Brooke, a former flag player at Robinson who currently plays D1 soccer for George Mason University.

 

Deliah Autry is in her second year as an Assistant Coach of Robinson Flag Football. She has played flag football for 14 years and counting. She graduated from the IB Program at Robinson High in 2013, where she was a varsity flag football and basketball player. She is a member of the U.S. Women's National Flag Football Team. Outside of flag football, she is a Doctor of Physical Therapy with a clinical focus in Pediatrics. She spends her days teaching children with disabilities how to crawl, sit, and walk. She has a 6-year-old dog that she treats as her son. She enjoys reading, dancing, and spending time with family.
